Field Day 2022

Field Day 2022 at McClure Park in Statesville was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Our club members set up an impressive array of antennas and radio stations, creating a lively hub of activity. The event seamlessly blended camaraderie, technical challenges, and community engagement.

A key highlight was our testing sessions designed to help newcomers earn their amateur radio licenses. This initiative was met with enthusiasm, and several individuals took advantage of the opportunity to take their tests. It was inspiring to see new faces joining the ranks of licensed operators, further strengthening our vibrant ham radio community.

Despite the occasional summer heat, the excitement and shared passion for ham radio created a fun and memorable atmosphere. The thrill of making contacts with operators across the world, combined with the spirit of teamwork and mutual support, made Field Day a significant event for ICARS. It not only tested our emergency communication skills but also reinforced our bonds as a club, leaving everyone eager for the next Field Day.
