Welcome and thank you for your interest in ham radio!
Your Technician Grade Training Class session is scheduled to be held at:
Beulah Heights Wesleyan Church
108 Emmanuel Rd Troutman, NC 28166
Classes: November 18, 19, 20 ,21, 22 6-9 pm nightly.
Test: 9AM Saturday November 23
Your classroom instructors and I have some exciting training lined up for you, with lots of live-action amateur radio excitement. We really want you to have a successful study experience, as you prepare yourself for the FCC Technician class written exam. When you pass, you’ll receive your first amateur radio license and FCC call sign. By studying Gordon West’s, WB6NOA, Technician Class book (shown on the last page of the Pre-Study Question Packet) and completing this Pre-Study Question Packet, you’ll also be ready to get on the air!
To properly read and understand the book please allow 30 days. While longer and short time frames really lets you learn the material well, longer and shorter times.
We encourage you to get a head start on class with the attached Pre-Study Packet. Go through selected sections with the book before each classroom session. These sections closely follow the book, and even include page numbers to guide you to the correct answers!
The questions in this Pre-Study Packet are in a casual fill-in-the-blanks format. Your actual Technician Class FCC Element 2 exam will be multiple choice exactly like the book, which makes it all that much easier! You will likely spot the test’s correct answer in a nanosecond!
Thank you again for choosing Ham Radio and embarking on this new adventure!
Let me know if you have any questions and we’ll see you November 18!
